The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The Canvas has been relined. The paint surface is a little dirty and worn with some minor scuffs and scratches, the most prominent of which is in the sitter’s right sleeve and the sculpted ledge. 
Examination under ultra violet light is largely obscured by the old uneven varnish layers but does reveal some strengthening to the sky while indicating the presence of some work in the darks of the sitter’s costume.
