This pastel, executed on paper, has been fully laid down to canvas. There is some tenting in the paper, over the background at upper left and right. The surface overall is slightly dirty. There is some abrasion to the rainbow in the background at left and upper center, and to the sitter's proper left elbow. There is a small loss in the paper at far right. There are minor abrasions along the extreme edges, but these are hidden by the rabbet of the frame. There is a small dark mark in the center of the sitter's chest, at lower left. The pastel presents well and is offered in a carved and giltwood frame.
