The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is executed on a panel comprised of a single board with a vertical grain. There is a single baton on the reverse supporting the upper left side of the panel, although there are no visible cracks. The paint layer is stable under a clear varnish. A fine craquelure is visible over the surface. In natural light restorations to the sky, in the figures' clothing and to the background along the craquelure are visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light revealed further retouching throughout along the craquelure. Additional inspections were hindered by an opaque varnish. The painting presents well and is offered in a brushed frame.
