Provenance
with F.B. Henson, London, from whom acquired for £2,000, probably between 1888 and 1892, as 'John Hoppner', by the following,
Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton (1837-1909), by whom placed in the Hall at Chesterfield House, Mayfair, and by descent at Chesterfield House and Needwood.
