An Allegory of Vanity

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is executed on a uniformly thin, although slightly uneven sheet of copper. The paint layer is clean and stuble under an unevenly applied varnish. There are a few small un retouched loses over the leaves of the tree at uooer center. Under ultraviolet light areas of the figure cloaked in red cheek fluoresces. Further areas in the painted our corners fluoresce. The painting is in fair condition and can be hung in its present state. The work is offered in a giltwood frame.
