The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Under natural light, a repaired horizontal tear at the center right edge and extending approximately 18 inches towards his proper left shoulder is visible. There are scattered areas of retouching, including along the edges to address frame abrasion, and also a small area near the center upper edge. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned repairs and further scattered retouching to minimize the appearance of craquelure. The work should be hung in its present state.
