The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The panel, constructed of three vertical planks, is cradled to the reverse. The paint surface is a little dry and could benefit from a surface clean and revarnishing. There is some surface scuffing and a few tiny losses associated to the panel join visible in the upper right of the composition. There are a few discoloured retouchings, eg. to the sitter's forehead. 
Examination under ultraviolet light is largely obscured by the old varnish layers but does reveal some retouching to the face.
