A landscape with figures on the outskirts of a town

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This painting is on a single panel with a horizontal grain. The panel has a slight convex bow, and there is a crack running the horizontal length of the panel 2 1/4 in. from the bottom edge. The paint layer is stable with a fine craquelure throughout. The varnish has been unevenly applied. Repairs along the aforementioned crack are visible in raking light. Minor restorations to thinned areas in the sky are scattered throughout and fluoresce under ultraviolet light. The panel's appearance could be marginally improved by refreshing the uneven varnish, to taste. This is offered in a Dutch-style faux tortoise frame.
