The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been relined and retains a good tension on its stretcher. There are a couple of surface scuffs in the sky while some discoloured retouching is also visible elsewhere in the sky. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals some scattered strengthening to the darker tones in the architecture, for example along the frieze of the building on the left, and more minor retouchings elsewhere.
