The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. The painting presents well in natural light, with the crispness of execution well preserved. There has been some slight thinning to the upper paint layers due to the relining process. Examination under UV light reveals some scattered retouching, notably to the darker passages in the flowers at upper right and upper centre, and some further minor scattered retouchings. There is a cloudy varnish that precludes a more in depth examination. The paint remains stable.
