The canvas has been relined and retains a good tension on its stretcher. The paint surface is stable and the picture presents well overall. Some surface scuffing is visible along the lower and right edges associated to historic frame abrasion.
Examination under ultraviolet light is somewhat obscured by the old varnish layer but, apart from some evidence of strengthening to the lower right corner the composition, it would appear to be in original condition.
