The panel is stable. The frame may be of a later date, rather than integral to the painted panel.
The gold background appears to have been re-gilded at a later date. There is some discoloured retouching visible to the figures in natural light (notably the Madonna’s face), which is confirmed under UV light. There may be further historic restorations hidden by the varnish. There is an area of loss lower right, and to the right of the Child’s proper left arm (visibile in the illustration). The colours and the fine detail of the drawing can however still be readily appreciated.
