The panel is not reinforced on the reverse and is approximately 3/8 inch thick, with an old catalogue label affixed to the reverse. The panel is in plane and the paint is stable on the support. Under natural light the varnish is slightly cloudy. A fine, vertically-oriented craquelure is visible in some places. A small scuff is visible in the background to the left of the central figure’s head. Under ultraviolet light, scattered retouches fluoresce in the sky as well as a few touches on the central figure’s costume. A few 1/4 inch areas fluoresce at upper center. The painting may be displayed as is.
