Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The painting is executed on paper which has been laid down to a panel support. The varnish is generally clear and the paint stable on the support. Two small breaks in the paper measuring approximately 1 inch in length are visible along the central top and lower right edges. The paint layer, which was thinly painted, appears to suffer from some degree of abrasion. Ultraviolet light reveals a campaign of fine dots and strokes throughout the composition as well as retouching to address the afore-mentioned breaks in the paper. The painting should be displayed in its current state.
