Sale Room Notice
Jan Six, to whom we are grateful, has suggested an attribution to a young Godfrey Kneller, comparing it to a work re-attributed to the artist sold at Koller, Munich, 18 September 2015 (lot 3064), which compositionally matches the present work in all but the explorer’s head.
