Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The panel is approximately 1⁄4 inch thick and is not reinforced on the reverse. It bows very slightly from top to bottom and is bevelled on all four sides. Under natural light, the vanish is clearly but slightly yellowed. A fine craquelure extends across the paint surface, which is stable on the support. A barb is visible at the left and right edges. Overall, the paint surface seems to be in lovely state. Ultraviolet light does not reveal any retouching (a vertical line at the extreme left edge might fluoresce). The painting presents beautifully and may be displayed as is.
