The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is reinforced on the reverse with a glue lining. The varnish is clear and only minimally cloudy. The paint is stable on the support, though there is some tenting visible in the lower foreground. Ultraviolet light reveals scattered passages of restoration throughout the sky as well as smaller passages in the architecture at right, notably in the vaults. The painting presents well and can be displayed in its current state.
