The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been relined, and the picture surface has an aged, yellowed varnish.
There is a fine pattern of craquelure, with a minor vertical surface scuff on the right hand side. The colours and drawing appear well preserved overall. Under UV light broad strokes of restoration are visible on the ledge lower centre (and lower centre left), but a more thorough reading is impeded by the varnish. The picture presents well, and the clarity of colours would improve on cleaning.
