The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- trimmed to or just outside the platemark above and below, fractionally trimmed within the platemark and to the subject in places at left and right.
- the upper left corner made up.
- a small surface abrasion at the upper sheet edge at centre.
- a skilfully repaired short vertical tear (circa10 mm.) at the upper sheet edge to the left, this area thinly backed.
- a similar repaired tear at the upper sheet edge to the right.
- a small thin spot at the upper sheet edge near the upper right corner, partially backed.
- a short tear at the lower sheet edge (circa7 mm.) towards the left.
- a few shorter nicks at the sheet edges in places.
- a pale trace of old adhesive or surface dirt in the sky at upper left.
- a few short printer's creases at lower and centre left near the sheet edge (in the broken tree trunk and above).
- a few thin spots in places.
- some old glue residues in places verso (the sheet was probably pasted onto an album sheet).
- remains of old hinges at the upper sheet corners verso.
