The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to the catalogue description:
- trimmed to or just or just outside the borderline, occasionally within the borderline at left.
- the sheet backed with old laid paper.
- the tip of the lower right corner and the extreme tip of the lower corner skilfully made up in pen and ink.
- the borderline occasionally redrawn in pen and ink at the lower left sheet edge.
- an oblique scratch from the left sheet up down to the right arm of Mary Magdalen (approx. 50 mm.).
- a few plugged holes at left, with touches of pen and ink, mostly noticeable in backlight.
- a few stains and foxmarks in places.
- some creasing at upper left.
- some stray red pigment on Christ's hand.
