拍品專文

It has been generally agreed that this print by an anonymous 16th century engraver is a copy in reverse of the engraving by Nicolas Beatrizet. Bartsch describes the copy as very well engraved in the manner of Beatrizet, bearing the address A.L.F. (Antonio Lafreri formis) for the first and only state. The present impression appears to be an unrecorded first state, before the address of the publisher and the name of the inventor.
Another impression of the same unrecorded state is at the Art Institute of Chicago (inv. no. 1929.278), catalogued as by Beatrizet.
