The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- trimmed to the borderline at the top and right, trimmed just inside the borderline at left and underneath the text below.
- a hard horizontal central fold, mostly visible at left.
- a few minor stains and spots
- laid down onto an 18th century (?) laid paper album sheet, inscribed with Goltzius's dates in ink at lower right.
- the album sheet with a small skinned spot at upper centre.

- trimmed inside the platemark but just outside the borderline on three sides, and preserving the blank border below.
- a pale brown foxmark on the figure's left calf.
