The Adoration of the Magi

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- trimmed to the borderline or fractionally inside the subject.
- the upper sheet edge skilfully made-up, the tips of the left corners disturbed, probably with two short tears skilfully repaired, a short repaired tear on the kneeling man's arm at the right sheet edge (1 cm.).
- a horizontal flattened printer's crease, partially broken and skilfully repaired (some remains of paper fibres on Mary's face).
- a few thin spots visible in a transmitting light.
- a few very thin and skilfull touches of grey wash on Mary's head and elsewhere.
- the sheet slightly toned and stained, pale pinpoint foxmarks mainly visible verso.
- hinged at the upper sheet edges verso.
