The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue description:
- trimmed to or just outside the borderline
- with the usual vertical central fold, partially broken and repaired, supported with paper fibres verso.
- an associated curved tear at lower centre, also backed.
- lacking the lower left corner (approx.15 x 13 mm.), repaired, the borderline made with pen and ink.
- a few minor foxmarks and stains in places.
- other minor defects.
