Cardinal Albrecht of Brandenburg ('The Large Cardinal')

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the description in the catalogue:

Albrecht of Brandenburg:
- trimmed on the platemark on three sides, just inside the platemark below
- a diagonal crease at lower right
- a faded ink inscription + / 104 on the reverse
Otherwise as described and generally in good condition

Frederick the Wise:
- the lower sheet trimmed to just below the portrait (probably a Meder c impression), the tablet from another impression skilfully added below
- a circular stain in the upper half of the tablet and some further, more minor, stains
- a vertical repair through the centre of the tablet
- further areas of the tablet strengthened with paper paste on the reverse
- the upper left corner made-up with pen and ink
