The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to, or elaboration of, the catalogue entry:
- trimmed 2-3 mm. inside the subject on three sides, trimmed to the subject into the blank area below
- some horizontal printer's creases at centre, possibly split in places and very skilfully repaired
- some minor stains at upper right and on the reverse
- a tiny loss at the extreme tip of the the upper right corner
