The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue description:
- irregularly trimmed to or just inside the borderline on three sides
- trimmed irregularly at the lower sheet edge around the cartouche, the blank border below made-up
- three horizontal paper splits across the width of the sheet
- further repaired tears at the sheet edges in places
- some pale stains recto, and further stains verso
- tipped to the mount at the upper corners on the reverse
