The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In addition to, or in elaboration of the catalogue description:
- four plates on rectangular sheets, one plate (de V. 91) trimmed to the oval with a fillet of blank paper outside of the subject
- the sheet corners of two plates (de V 87 & 90) diagonally trimmed by 1 x 1 cm. and made-up
- with some tears at the sheet edges and into the subjects in places
- one plate (de V. 89) with a 12 mm. area of paper loss in the left subject
- some further tears and repaired tears
- some staining and other defects
