Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The painting is executed on a panel comprised of a single beveled wooden board of vertical grain. There is a repaired U-shaped crack to the upper edge at center. There are two very small losses to each lower corner. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. Under natural light, retouching to address frame abrasion and the aforementioned restoration is visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light was impeded by an opaque varnish. The work should be hung in its present state. The painting is offered with a simple black painted wood frame.
