The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is supported on the reverse with a glue lining. The paint layer is stable, although dirty under a yellowed varnish. Under natural light, scattered retouchings, including to the edges to address frame abrasion, are evident. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned retouching. There are scattered touches of strengthening to Acras and Callisto. The painting presents well and can be hung in its present state. The work is offered in a carved gilt wood frame.
