The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This painting is supported on the reverse by a glue lining. The canvas is stable, altough a bit tightly stretched, on its support. The paint layer is stable under a clear varnish. In natural light a number of areas of repair are visible, these areas are also visible in the catalogue image. There is a notable areas of repair over the large circular work of art at left, which appears to address an 'L' shaped tear. There is another notable area of restoration over an abraided area of the landscape. The painting can be hung in its present state, although its appearance could be marginally improved by readdressing the most noticeable areas of repair. This lot is offered without a frame.
