The painting is executed on a two panels of horizontal grain. The upper panel measuring 6 1/4 inches high and the lower panel measuring 9 1/2 inches high. The painting is supported with a cradle on the reverse. The paint layer is stable under a slightly dirty varnish that has yellowed with age. There are pigment losses to the extreme edges from frame abrasion, not visible when framed. Under natural light, scattered retouching, including to the edges are visible. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned retouching. An opaque varnish impedes further inspection. The painting can be hung in its current state. The work is offered in a carved gilt wood frame.
