The canvas is relined and is secure, although slightly slack, on its stretcher. The paint layer is stable under a clear varnish that has yellowed slightly with age. There is an overall network of craquelure. There are scattered small pigment losses. Under natural light, retouching to minimize the appearance of craquelure and to address pigment losses is visible. There is an area of restoration to the sky at center right. The work should be hung in its present state, but would benefit from a sensitive conservation treatment. The painting is offered with a carved gilt wood frame.
