The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The surface is stable and the colors present well. Excellent detail in the drapery and background. Very thin lines of craquelure at the top and bottom of the image including in the sky and figure at front left. Light surface dirt is present. Small spots of loss to the enamel at the extreme upper left corner, outside the picture plane. A small deposit or retouch in the grass adjacent the underside of the drapery. Under UV light, retouching at the extreme edges to address frame abrasion. Retouching in the sky left of the ladder in the upper left corner.

Rubbing on the velvet of the frame.
