A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Each painting is executed on a panel comprised of a singular board with a horizontal grain. All six panels have a concave bow. Three of the panels have repaird cracks along the upper edge, as visble in the catalogue images. There is evidence of now inactive wood worm on each of the panels. While the paint layers are stable, each work has been abraided over time, this abraision has cause pigment loss as seen in the catalogue images. Campaigns of resoration can be seen in natural light and in the published images. Under ultraviolet light, strengthening to the contours of the figures is visible to the contours of each of the figures. This set of six works is offered unframed.
