The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is executed on canvas and supported on the reverse with a glue lining. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has yellowed with age. There is an overall unobtrusive and uneven network of craquelure. Under natural light, scattered minor retouchings are visible to the leaves and petals. There are two small circular areas of retouching at upper right and lower right. There is a diagonal line of disturbance in the upper left quadrant. Inspection under ultraviolet light, confirms the aforementioned restorations and further minor retouchings, although inspection was hindered by an opaque varnish. The work is offered in a carved and gilt wood frame.
