The canvas has been relined and is stable on its support. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is an overall network of craquelure. Under natural light scattered retouching, including to Christ's proper right ear, is evident. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned retouching. The painting should be hung in its present state. The work is offered in a simple black painted frame.
