The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The terracotta with a well-developed patina. Surface dirt present. Chipping and flaking on the high points overall. Larger losses on front of the proper left shoulder and front of chest. Chip on the top of the nose and rubbed loss on the tip of the nose. Possible repairs at the very tip of the nose. Surface repairs on the neck, nose and eyes, apparently aged. Polychrome vestiges in the hair and some other areas with white discoloration at the edges. Polychrome surface may disguise a larger repair on the front of the neck. Sharp loss about a half inch deep on the back edge and around the base. A drilled hole at the back of the crown of the head about a quarter inch in diameter. The back largely of the torso with considerable losses possibly from water exposure. Please note: thermoluminescence testing has not been performed. An '8' in red paint at the base of the reverse and on the inside.
