The painting is executed on a uniformly thin copper sheet that has been secured to a modern wood support with metal and plastic mounts. The sheet is uneven. There are a number of splits visible, including a 3/4 inch long split at the left upper edge. The paint layer is stable and is under a varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is blanching to the lower right quadrant. Under natural light, a repaired puncture in the upper right quadrant is evident. There is a C-shaped repaired damage at the center upper edge with associated retouchings. There are visible retouchings to the aforementioned splits and scattered minor restorations. A few fine, short scratches are evident throughout. Inspection under ultraviolet light confirms the aforementioned repairs and further scattered retouchings. An uneven opaque varnish impedes further inspection. The painting can be hung in its present state, but its appearance would likely be enhanced following a survace cleaning and revarnishing. The work is offered with a carved gilt wood frame.
