The canvas has been subject to relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. Examination in natural light shows retouching to the sky. Examination under UV light confirms the aforementioned retouching. There is a repaired diagonal tear of approximately 8 cm. to the right of the foreground boat's sails. There has been some strengthening to the rigging of the boats. There is some retouching to the boats. The varnish precludes further examination.
