The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The oak panel is stable and providing solid support for the picture. It presents extremely well overall, with the colours and wealth of detail finely preserved. The examination under UV reveals some retouching along a horizontal spilt/join running through the centre of the panel, and a few scattered spots of retouching elsewhere.
