The canvas has been subject to relining. It is held under tension and remains stable. Examination in natural light shows a fine patteren of craquelure across the surface. There has been some slight thinning to the upper glazes. There is some scattered retouching to the background. The pupils of the eyes have been strengthened. There is scattered retouching to the figure. Examination under UV light confirms the aforementoned retouching. Further examination is impaired by a thick varnish.
