The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This single piece panel appears to be in good overall condition. The paint surface is stable but there is some evidence of minor abrasion to the darker tones in the costume.
Examination under ultra violet light is partly obscured by the old varnish layers but does reveal some very minor retouching to the flesh tones, chiefly in the sitter’s hands, with some to her costume.
There are some losses to the gilding of the wooden frame.
