The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This single piece panel has very slightly warped. There is evidence of some tenting in the paint surface, largely in the upper left quadrant of the composition. This should be stabilised to avoid potential future paint losses. Some discoloured retouching is visible to the naked eye in the upper left section of the background. Examination under ultra violet light is partly obscured by the old varnish layers but does reveal two historic schemes of strengthening to some of the darker tones.
The wooden frame has some losses to the gilding.
