Tulips, peonies and other flowers in a basket on a plinth, a garden beyond

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been relined and retains a good tension on its stretcher. The picture appears to be in good overall condition and presents well. The paint surface has been slightly flattened by the relining treatment but the highest impasto (in the whites of the flowers) remains well preserved. A few very minor discoloured retouchings are visible in the background (upper right).
Not examined under ultra violet light.
The frame has a few losses to the gilding.
