The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The panel is made up of three boards horizontally joined. The panel has been backed with canvas. Examination in natural light shows some restoration along the two panel joins there has been some slight lifting along previous faults in the panel that have been stabilised, especially to the upper left hand corner. There is some surface dirt to the bottom right hand corner. There has been some retouching to the paint in places especially in the bottom left hand corner. Examination under UV light confirms all the aforementioned restoration and reveals the scattered remains of a historic varnish across the surface. There is retouching overall specifically to the lower left corner and upper third of the panel. The paint remains stable.
