The canvas has been relined. There is a discoloured varnish and a layer of surface dirt. There are small paint losses in the lower right hand corner. UV light inspection is partially impaired by the complex layers of varnish, which seems to have been selectively cleaned at some point in the picture’s history. There are some retouchings near the edges associated with frame wear.
