The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The alabaster support is structurally stable and the picture presents very well overall. Examination under ultra violet reveals retouching to the face and robes of the Virgin, strengthening to the torso of the winged putto and orange robes of the Archangel, with more minor retouching elsewhere, eg. in the balustrade (centre left).
