This painting is executed on a circular panel measuring about ¼ inch thick, with a later addition of a ring of wood around about ¼ inch thick surrounding the panel. The panel has a vertical grain and a very slight horizontal bow. The paint surface is stable, and very slightly dirty, under a clear varnish. Inspection under ultraviolet light revealed tiny restorations scattered throughout the composition. Inspection under ultraviolet light of the clothing, specifically the blue areas, and the background was hindered by an opaque varnish, which fluoresced green. The roundel is offered in a square giltwood frame.
