Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The bronze with a dark brown patina. Rubbing and wear to the highpoints, including the raised portions of his skirt and edges of his sleeves and hat. Spear or halberd lacking from his right hand which should connect to a hole in his right foot. A large open hole in the top of his hat running all the way through his body which is obviously hollow cast. A couple of dents to the tunic to front left. There are three iron pins around the hole at the top of his hat presumably joining this to his head, as the hat was likely cast separately. Some wear to his finger tips on his left hand. 161⁄2 in. (42 cm.) high overall
